This is actually a good series. I thought it would be one of those cry fest drama but I gave it a chance because of my interest in the political conflict of that time period. I love strong female lead character so this was a plus. Liu Tao as Wang Mei Er was quite stunning. I heard she did all the singing herself. Too bad she quit her acting career.

It was not bad at all, there were some draggy part, but it wasn’t the usual cliche series, Feng shao feng and Liu Tao were great here, Good news sleepyhead, Liu Tao is back to acting.
