In the Song dynasty, the ambitious first prince Zhao Yun and second prince Zhao Rui fiercely compete for the throne. Each is guided by trusted advisers: Yu Jing and Tung Chiu—two longtime family friends with a mentor-like bond.

Trouble strikes when Yu Jing’s father, Yu Pok Man, becomes a target after his success threatens his superior. The Yu family is torn apart: Yu Ching is tricked into becoming an imperial eunuch, and Yu Jing loses her memory, eventually being taken in by triad leader Yim Sam Leung.
