Chor Yat Jeen was saved by a kind man when he was young, and ever since, he’s dreamed of becoming the world’s best detective. But his boss, Ching Ying Hung, gets jealous of Yat Jeen's success and sends him on a dangerous mission to catch a famous criminal, Wan Tin Bong.

During his mission, Yat Jeen meets Foon Hei, who saves him multiple times. Even though they’re on opposite sides, Yat Jeen starts having dreams where he sees himself as Liang Shan Bo from the Butterfly Lovers legend and believes he and Foon Hei are destined to be tragic lovers. Things get even more confusing when a rich girl named Wu Dip shows up, causing Yat Jeen’s imagination and belief in the legend to spiral out of control.
