The story takes place during the time of Emperor Ren Zong in the Northern Song Dynasty. In the busy city of Kaifeng, people are shouting and worried because something strange is happening. A chef named Sheng Man, who works in Lan Kwai Fong, is ready to stand up for herself. Meanwhile, Liu Ming Yue is a regular woman who stays at home with her husband and son. Even though Ming Yue and Sheng Man have very different personalities, they both find themselves caught up in a mysterious string of murders.

Normally, cases like this are solved by Bao Da Ren and his helpers, like the brave Zhan Zhao and the clever Ouyang Dong. But since Ming Yue and Sheng Man are involved in the case, they use their own unique skills to help the court figure things out. Emperor Ren Zong even orders that the two women assist Bao Zheng in solving the case. Together with Zhan Zhao, Gong Sun Ce, and others, they work through many tough cases. Even though there are plenty of funny moments along the way, their sense of justice helps them take on the mission of fighting crime and making things right.
