Hey Edison, the direct sequel in the novel for this movie is The Swordsman from the Mountain Pass which involves the White Hair Demoness disciple named “Hamaya”, who falls in love with Yang YunCong (who is a disciple of Reverend HuiMing aka Yue MingKe) and her hair also turns white like her master. There is a Singapore version called The Legend of the White Hair Brides 1996, which is a loose adaption. It’s a very good series and I think you will like it, highly recommend. Maybe someone can remaster someday, I do have the audio.
Then after that story, the Seven Swords of Mount Heaven takes place. There was a 2006 adaption but it doesn’t follow the original novel at all. I don’t recommend watching it. It involves Yi LanZhu who is the daughter of Yang YunCong to avenge her father’s death. Reverend Hui Ming aka YueMingKe is still alive in this novel even though he is like 130 years old. Hamaya is still in this novel is one of the Seven Swordsman and takes care of Yi LanZhu (her father is the one who caused her hair to turn white). And surprise Yi LanZhu’s hair also turns white because of her lover but they found the rare flower that Zhuo YiHang saved for The White Hair Demoness (both are dead by the time of this novel) and her hair went back to black forever.
So chronologically this is the timeline loosely, there are many more stories and novels that take place in between before and after.
1. Romance of the White Hair Maiden (MANY TV ADAPTIONS, none are faithful sadly)
2. Swordsman from The Mountain Pass (1 SINGAPORE ADAPTION 1996) – highly recommended
3. Seven Swords of Mount Heaven (1 CHINA TV ADAPTION 2006) – not recommended
4. Three Heroines of the Martial World (NO TV ADAPTION)
5. Ice Cold Simmering Sword (NO TV ADAPTION)
6. The Glacier Maiden (NO TV ADAPTION)
7. Lofty Waters Verdant Bow (MANY TV ADAPTIONS – the ATV version is the closest but setting has changed)
8. The Record of Ice Cleansing Sword (NO TV ADAPTION)
9. Wind and Thunder Shocks the World (NO TV ADAPTION)
10. Chivalrous and Loyalty (1 CHINA ADAPTION 2007) known as The Patriotic Knights
11. The Wandering Sword (1 TVB adaption in 2006 known as Vagabond Vigilante) not a bad series but very long, doesn’t follow the novel and very sad ending)
and there are many more afterwards, but after The White Hair Maiden the Qing’s have taken over (The Ming Dynasty is over) and it’s all the bald and braided hair after. The TV adaptions mostly changed that.
